Since the 1990 publication of the classic first edition of The Rites of the Catholic Church from Liturgical Press, all of these texts have been re-translated or otherwise updated, in accordance with the Church's liturgical translation guidelines, with the exception of The Order of Christian Funerals. The Order of Christian Funerals, while not re-translated, has been updated in this edition to include the language of The Roman Missal, Third Edition.

About The Author

Paul Turner (Introduction) is pastor of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Kansas City, Missouri, and director of the Office of Divine Worship for the Diocese of Kansas City--St. Joseph. He holds a doctorate in sacred theology from Sant' Anselmo in Rome. The 2025 Catholic Media Association's Author of the Year, Turner is the author of numerous books published by Liturgical Press and a contributor to Give Us This Day.
