Dāsa, Jagadānanda: - Jagadananda Das, a.k.a. Jan K. Brzezinski, PhD (1950-2024), joined the Hare Krishna movement in Toronto, Canada, in 1970 and was initiated by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami in 1971 in Detroit. In ISKCON, he served in various capacities at ISKCON Press in Brooklyn, then at the Dallas Gurukula where he taught Sanskrit, in New Vrindavan where he headed the Varṇāśrama College experiment in 1974, and then as headmaster of the Mayapur Gurukula in India (1975-1979). In 1979, he took sannyāsa from Bhavananda, taking the name Hiranyagarbha Swami. In 1979, having gained clear understading of ISKCON's philosophical discrepancies as well as their lack of proper connection to Chaitanya Vaishnavism, he left ISKCON and joined the son and direct disciple of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur, Lalita Prasad Thakur (1879-1980), from whom he received authentic dīkṣā, siddha-praṇāli, and vairāgya (bābājī veṣa). He was given the name Jagadānanda Dās Bābājī. For the next five years, he lived in the holy town of Navadvipa, West Bengal. He studied the literature of the sampradāya in its original languages and was given the title Bhakti-śāstrī by the Bhaktivinoda Goṣṭhī in 1982.In 1985, he returned to Canada and took courses in comparative religious studies and the history of religions at McGill University, earning top honors. In 1988, he was awarded the Commonwealth Scholarship to study for his doctorate at the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London). In 1992, he was awarded a Ph.D. in Sanskrit Literature, the subject of his dissertation being the Gopāla-campū of Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī.
Goswāmī, Kānupriya: - "Prabhupāda Śrī Kānupriya Goswāmī (1891-1975) was a Vaiṣṇava saint, guru, and practitioner of Krishna Bhakti, coming in the line (parivara) of Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu via Śrī Kānu Ṭhākura. As a result of his comprehensive and illustrious deliberation on the Holy Name in his book titled 'Śrī Nāma Cintāmaṇi, ' he was awarded the title of Nāma Vijñānācārya - "Realized Teacher of the Holy Name," by the Vaiṣṇavas of Śrī Navadvīp Dhāma. No one in the history of Caitanya Vaiṣṇavism has received a title with this level of veneration and respect since the original Harināma Ācārya Śrīla Haridāsa Ṭhākura. He was an authentic Vaiṣṇava who lead a humble and pure life, and while he certainly could have established big temples, as well as an organization and such, he clearly understood and avoided the trappings of money and followers."
Steinert, Neil: - Neil Steinert a/k/a Nityānanda Dāsa, was born in Utah, USA, and is a practitioner, student/teacher, researcher, writer, publisher, and archivist of the Caitanya Vaiṣṇava tradition. He is a disciple of Prabhupāda Śrī Kṛṣṇacandra Goswāmī of the Śrīla Narottama Dāsa Ṭhākura lineage (parivara). He has been practicing bhakti since 1991 and presently resides in New Jersey with his family. He is the chief editor and director of the Caitanya Vaisnava Press and is also a contributing member of the Blazing Sapphire Press.
