The object of this book is to focus attention of all Governmental and Non-Governmental agencies both at the national and international level (including UN, World Bank, UNDP, UNCEF etc.), and at the local level (the Pollution Control Boards, Urban Planning Authorities, Municipal, Industries, Health, Welfare and Safety Departments), on the importance of the problems discussed in this book, which is intended for them. The book is timely and topical.

Dr. N.P. Rao holds B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc., LL.B., Ph.D., Diploma in Business Administration and Industrial Management. He graduated from Stanford University, USA in Production Management. He was the Director in DR&DO, Ministry of Defence. He was a Visiting Professor at Delhi, Roorkee and Stanford University on Management and allied subjects. He published research work on management problems. He widely travelled and represented India at International Conferences. He has 40 years of teaching, research and consultancy experience.
He is on the Faculty of many Institutes. His latest books include Modernising Management for the 21st Century, HRD etc.
