This book is in commemoration of the life and work of Professor R.S. Sharma, an eminent metamorphic petrologist and mineralogist. It incorporates the latest developments in the field of metamorphic petrology. The Volume is divided into five sections, namely Metamorphism, Fluid Processes, Himalayan Metamorphism, UHP/ UHT Metamorphism, and Geochronology & Geochemistry. The book would be of great interest to all geoscientists concerned with metamorphic processes and crustal evolution.

H. Thomas is Reader in the Department of Geology, Mizoram Central University, Mizoram, Aizawl. He obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from BHU in 1985 and 1992 respectively. He has to his credit the Research Associateship and the Young Scientist Research Project Award of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research [CSIR, New Delhi] and Department of Science and Technology [DST, New Delhi]. He served as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Applied Geology & Centre of Advance Studies in Geology, Dr Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar (M.P). He has developed several software having applications in diverse fields of earth science including calculation of Pressure-Temperature, and activities of metamorphic minerals. He has authored more than twenty-four research papers that form the parts of several National and International journals. The thrust area of his research interest is the metamorphic and tectonic evolution of the high-grade gneisses and granulites.
