This book presents the basic of multipliers and its practical implementation microwave frequencies employing simpler techniques. This book provides a simple realizable multiplier approach with diode, transistor and mixer based topologies. The topologies covered in this book are planar, easier implementable and comprehensively brings out the practical challenges in the realization. Step recovery diode and FET based multipliers at microwave frequencies are designed using standard software simulation keeping fabrication limitations into consideration. The simple non-linear modelling approach is also presented and incorporated resulting in the close match between predicted and measured results. The presented approach is scalable and implementable. The other aspects such as RF and transmission lines fundamentals, diode basics and system level simulation covering various planar circuits are also covered which will provide better understanding. The book brings out concept to development approach along with glimpses of future topologies for providing better insight to students and researchers.

Dr. Kamaljeet Singh, M. Tech., Ph. D., is presently working at U.R. Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), formerly known as ISRO Satellite Centre (ISAC). He joined URSC in November 1999 and worked in the area of Geo-receiver at C-band. He was posted in 2006 to Semi-conductor Laboratory, Near Chandigarh in 2006 where he was trained in thin film and worked in the area of RF-MEMS. He was instrumental in the initiation of sensors development, Productionization of physical sensors along with re-establishment of 6" MEMS fabline at SCL and was principle investigator for national programme in micro and smart system project. He worked in various areas such as design, production, fabrication and presently he is Group Director HMC & lndigenization group at URSC where he is involved in development HMCs and MIC/MMIC circuits for various missions. He is fellow of IETE, Fellow of Punjab Academy of sciences, Young associate fellow of INAE, Life member of ASI & IMAPS and senior member of IEEE. He has published more than 150 technical articles in various journals/conferences and is on the review board of many journals. He is the recipient of young scientist awards from INAE, IETE & ISRO. He has written various technical books in Hindi and English namely RF Principle and Its Application in RF-MEMS Switch, Si-RF Technology, Sensors Based on IC Techniques and Its Applications and Interdigital Capacitors. He has given invited talks at various institutes in the country and also published Hindi Poetry book titled Jeevan Darshan.
