As distor��es de pol�tica foram medidas atrav�s de indicadores da PAM. A t�cnica de classifica��o de Garret foi utilizada para analisar as restri��es na produ��o e exporta��o. Os resultados, tanto em termos sociais como de lucro privado, indicam que a �ndia possui uma vantagem competitiva e comparativa na sua produ��o. Al�m disso, no caso do pepino, a m�o de obra qualificada e a falta de qualidade superior s�o as principais restri��es. Por outro lado, no caso da rom�, a indisponibilidade de m�o de obra qualificada, a elevada incid�ncia de pragas e doen�as, a falta de meios de transporte e o elevado efeito residual dos pesticidas s�o as principais restri��es.
