Der Bericht gibt zunächst eine Übersicht über die Vorgeschichte und den Anla zur Bohrung, die Vorbereitungen zur technischen Durchführung und wissen- schaftlichen Bearbeitung. Das Land Nordrhein-Westfalen und acht Erdölgesell- schaften vereinbarten eine gemeinsame Finanzierung, Durchführung und Be- arbeitung der Aufschlu bohrung Münsterland 1, von deren Kosten das Land 2, die Erdölindustrie rund 7 Mio DM übernahmen. Mit der Vorbereitung und Bearbeitung der Bohrung, der Auswertung und der Veröffentlichung der Untersuchungsergebnisse über die Bohrzeit (10. 7. 1961 bis 5. 12. 1962) hinaus, waren drei Jahre lang fast 30 Amtsgeologen und ebenso viele technische Mitarbeiter mehr oder minder ausschlie lich beschäftigt. Ihre Einzelergebnisse werden in einem grö eren Abschnitt nach Formationen und Fachgebieten wiedergegeben. In einem anderen Kapitel werden die Einzel- ergebnisse miteinander verglichen und je nach Stichhaltigkeit als gesichert oder problematisch gekennzeichnet. Dann schien wegen der nach Art und Umfang verschiedenen Arbeiten eine Betrachtung der Korrespondenz bezüglich Ver- teilung, Aufwand und Ergebnis der Untersuchungen aufschlu - und lehrreich zugleich zu sein. Schlie lich sei hier die Zusammenfassung der Ergebnisse in einigen Sätzen angefügt. 1. Kreide. Die inmitten des Münsterländer Kreidebeckens gelegene Bohrung bot für das Kreideprofil keine gro en Überraschungen. Der Nachweis von Mittel-und Oberalb war aus einer Veröffentlichung kurz zuvor abzulesen, wenn auch eine Eichung der auf Ostracoden und Foraminiferen beruhenden Strati- graphie an der Cephalopodenfauna noch aussteht. Cenoman und Turon lie en die vermuteten mittleren Mächtigkeiten und eine vorwiegend kalkige, chemisch ausgeschiedene Schichtenserie erkennen, Coniac, Santon und Camp an kennzeichneten durch ihre kalkige pelitische Ausbildung und bedeutende Mächtigkeit (1300 m) ihre Lage im Hauptbecken.
