Die Kenntnis der Grundlagen und Verfahren wissenschaftlichen Arbeitens ist noch immer nicht selbstverst�ndliches Allgemeingut der Studenten geworden. Ein Grund hierfur mag wohl der sein, da kaum Vorlesungen und �bungen �ber die Organisa- tion und Technik der wissenschaftlichen Arbeit abgehalten werden. Auch in den allgemeinbildenden Schulen fehlen entsprechende Anregungen. Bei den arbeitstechnischen �berlegungen in den einzelnen Wissenschaftsgebieten geht es in erster Linie um ein Problem der Rationalisierung. Die Unkenntnis ratio- neller Verfahren und der zur Verfugung stehenden Hilfsmittel sowie ungen�gende Auswertung der Fachliteratur schr�nken den Studienerfolg ein. Auch eine mangel- hafte Gestaltung eines wissenschaftlichen Manuskriptes f�hrt zu belastenden Pro- blemen. In der vorliegenden Schrift werden die langj�hrigen Erfahrungen des Verfassers bei wissenschaftsorganisatorischen Fragen dargestellt. Es k�nnen aber keine "Rezepte", sondern lediglich unverbindliche Anweisungen gegeben werden. Die pers�nlichen Denk-und Arbeitsweisen var�eren sehr. Die wissenschaftlichen Arbeitsbedingungen sind von Fakult�t zu Fakult�t unterschiedlich. Der Verfasser kann deshalb nur be- w�hrte Vorschl�ge bringen, von denen Abweichungen im Rahmen der Konvention und der pers�nlichen Eigenart selbstverst�ndlich, ja in vielen F�llen vielleicht sogar erforderlich sind.
