Naturgemä ist das Molekulargewicht eine charakteristische Zahl für die makromolekularen Stoffe, der Grö e nach wie insbesondere auch der Streu- ung nach (Polymolekularität). Deshalb sind die Methoden zur Bestimmung der Molekulargewichte und ihrer Verteilung von gro em Interesse und - der schwierigen Verhältnisse in den makromolekularen Lösungen entsprechen- noch in steter Entwicklung begriffen. Eine der neuesten Methoden benutzt die Messung der Lichtzerstreuung an verdünnten Lösungen, deren Auswertung im Verhältnis zu den Messungen der Viskosität durch theoretisch klarer zu überblickende Verhältnisse erleich- tert wird. Andererseits ist diese Methode aber experimentell so diffizil, da sie zunächst nur erst in einem wissenschaftlichen Laboratorium durch- führbar ist. Um so günstiger traf es sich, da wir, dank der Unterstützung durch das Ministerium für Wirtschaft und Verkehr des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen an der Einrichtung dieser Messungen durch einen solchen Fachmann auf diesem Gebiet wie Herrn Professor STUART, Hannover, teilhaben konnten. Es sei daher Herrn Professor STUART für die Ermöglichung dieser Zusammenarbeit und die Bereitstellung seiner Erfahrungen sowie Herrn Dipl.-Phys. FENDLER für die Durchführung dieser Arbeiten ebenso gedankt wie besonders dem Herrn Minister für Wirtschaft und Verkehr für die Bewilligung einer For- schungsbeihilfe für diesen Zweck in Höhe von 2500, -- DM an persönlichen und 1000, -- DM an sächlichen Mitteln.
