Balasubramaniyan, Vaidhyanathan: -

V Balasubramaniyan received his PhD from Annamalai University, India. His post-doctoral training at the University of Notre Dame in Prof. Pasto's group was followed at the University of Wyoming with Prof. Blatz. He was at MSU, MI (Spring 1983), and UW (Faculty, Summer 1983). Back in India in 1970, he established the graduate department of chemistry at HPT College, Nashik (affiliated to the University of Pune) and initiated independent research in heterocyclic chemistry supported by all major funding agencies of India (1970-1993). He received multiple best teacher awards, including the prestigious Prof Narasimhan award for best researcher. Since retirement, he continues his teaching and research as emeritus professor in medicinal chemistry focused on biological activities (1996-current). His publications have appeared in all major international journals. He is currently a visiting senior faculty with HBCSE, Mumbai.
