Real Game: We are living in a simulation by AKM Maruf Hassan is a detailed speculative narrative about reality may be fundamentally computational, mathematical, or even simulated. It combines concepts from physics, philosophy, simulation theory, and the Mathematical Universe Hypothesis to argue that universe behaves as though it is governed by information-processing rules. It is the possibility that reality is pixelated at the deepest level. Just as digital images appear smooth from a distance but reveal pixels when magnified, space and time may be made of discrete units at the Planck scale. In this view, quantum mechanics acts as an efficient computational system that uses probabilities rather than calculating every possible outcome. Just as in game rendering, what is unnecessary is not included. The universe being made up of pixels is still very real; it will simply mean that it was not continuous in the first place but rather discretely defined. Consider, for instance, the speed of light as the upper limit of processing power. Physics gives an explanation for why light can't travel faster than the speed of light using Einstein's theory of relativity, which requires infinite energy to reach the speed of light. But there is another theory that can help us understand this problem. Concepts such as quantum entanglement, wavefunction collapse, and causality are interpreted as mechanisms that optimize information processing while preserving consistency throughout the system. Faster-than-light travel, wormholes, and similar ideas are described as potential violations of the universe's logical framework. The next major theme is that mathematics appears to govern everything. From Newtonian mechanics and electromagnetism to general relativity, quantum mechanics, and cosmology, mathematical equations accurately describe natural phenomena across all scales. This book argues that mathematics is not merely a descriptive language but may actually be the underlying structure of reality itself. Constants, equations, geometry, calculus, and symmetry function like the source code of a cosmic program. This perspective is reinforced through references to physicist Eugene Wigner's observation about the "unreasonable effectiveness of mathematics" in describing nature. Building on this idea, the text introduces the Mathematical Universe Hypothesis, most closely associated with Max Tegmark. According to MUH, the universe is not simply described by mathematics-it literally is a mathematical structure. Everything that exists, including matter, energy, space, time, and consciousness, consists of mathematical relationships. In this framework, consciousness emerges from patterns and processes rather than specific physical materials. A conscious mind could theoretically exist anywhere its mathematical structure is reproduced. It compares MUH with simulation theory, emphasizing that simulation theory requires a simulator and computer, whereas MUH requires only mathematics. The following is a brief description of Tegmark's multiverses' levels, which include level I, where the universe is considered infinite, hence there are areas far away from us. The second level involves bubble universes having varied physics. The third level consists of many-worlds that branch out depending on quantum occurrences, while the fourth involves all mathematically consistent universes. Moreover, the uncertainty principle and observation are covered in the book. The particles do not have defined characteristics unless they are measured because their existence lies in a state of probability through wave function. These concepts include the uncertainty principle, wave function collapse, and the observer effect, suggesting that reality itself behaves like an engine that renders results based on observation.
