About The Book

Die Gleitentladung ist eine sehr kurzzeitige Entladungserscheinung auf der Oberfläche eines Isolators bei der sich elektrische Ladungen in einer dünnen Gasschicht über diesem ausbreiten. Nicht 'zu schwache Entladungen sind unmittelbar beobachtbar. Der Entladungsablauf lä t sich durch Auf- streuen von geeigneten Pulvern auf den Isolator fixieren. Die Entladung hinterlä t dann Spuren, sogenannte Staubfiguren, die zum ersten Male im Jahre 1777 von G. Ch. LICHTENBERG beobachtet wurden, und seitde LICHTEN- BERGsehe Figuren genannt werden. Man kann aber auch einen photographi- schen Film als Dielektrikum verwenden. Seine Schichtseite zeichnet dann die Entladungsfigur auf. Gleitentladungen können mit sehr verschiedenen Anordnungen erzeugt werden. Die Abbildung 1 zeigt die Vorrichtung, mit der die nachstehenden Versuche ausgeführt wurden. Auf einer gro en Me- 2 tallplatte von etwa 400 cm, der sogenannten Gegenelektrode, liegt ein dünner Isolator, in unserem Falle ein Film. Auf ihn ist eine gegen die Gegenelektrode kleine Elektrode, die sogenannte Gleitelektrode, aufge- setzt. Die Form der Gleitelektrode ist für das Zustandekommen der Gleit- entIadung unwesentlich. Wichtig ist nur, da sie mit einer scharfen Kan-. te oder einer Spitze auf dem Isolator aufsitzt. Gleitelektrode und Gegen- eIektrode bilden einen Kondensator, der durch eine Spannungswelle aufge- laden wird. Überschreitet die Welle einen bestimmten Spannungswert, so entwickelt sich von der kleinen Elektrode ausgehend eine Gleitentladung auf dem Isolator. Je nach der Polarität der Gleitelektrode spricht man von einer positiven oder negativen Gleitentladung, zwei Entladungstypen, die meist gut zu unterscheiden sind. Die Abbildungen 2 und 3 zeigen eine typische negative und eine positive Gleitentladung.
