Das vorliegende Bandchen solI die Reihe der pflanzenphysiologischen Versuchsanleitungen, die durch das bereits in 2. Auflage vorliegende "Prakti- kum der Zell-und Gewebephysiologie" von S. STRUGGER schon vor 30 Jah- ren eroffnet wurde, zum AbschluE bringen. Nachdem unterdessen auch die Stoffwechselphysiologie von PAECH und SIMONIS und die Wachstums- und Entwicklungsphysiologie von RUGE ausfiihrlich dargestellt worden sind, bleibt als letztes groEeres Gebiet noch die Bewegungsphysiologie zu be- handeln. Die geschilderten Versuche solI en nicht nur die wichtigsten Erscheinungs- formen der physikalischen und der physiologischen Bewegungen vorfiihren, sondern dariiber hinaus auch die Moglichkeit einer Kausalanalyse der Effekte zeigen. Bei der Auswahl der Aufgaben haben wir uns deshalb bemiiht, neben "klassischen" Versuchen und solchen, die eine bestimmte Bewegungs- reaktion demonstrieren, vor allem auch solche Methoden zu beschreiben, die den Studenten in die quantitativen Arbeitsweisen der modernen Bewegungs- physiologie einfiihren. Ein Teil der beschriebenen Versuche laEt sich in etwas vereinfachter Form selbst mit den Mitteln fUr den Biologieunterricht einer hoheren Schule durchfiihren. Es wurde aber auch eine Reihe von Versuchen dargestellt, die einen etwas groEeren technischen Aufwand erfordern, wei I fortgeschrittenere Studenten auch in kompliziertere U ntersuchungsmethoden eingefiihrt werden sollten, die fiir eine weitere Aufklarung der Reaktions- mechanismen notwendig sind. In den meisten Fallen wurde darauf verzichtet, den Versuchen eine theo- retische Einfiihrung voranzustellen; nur dort, wo es notwendig erschien, ist das Prinzip der angewendeten Methode kurz beschrieben. J ede Versuchs- beschreibung enthalt dagegen das zu erwartende Ergebnis, auEerdem, soweit moglich, die SchluMolgerungen, die sich daraus ziehen lassen.
