Von E. Seidl t Das vorliegende Heft der Wissenschaftlichen Abhandlungen gibt einen Überblick über die Einsetzung des Staatlichen Materialprüfungsamtes Berlin-Dahlem für den deut- schen Bergbau. Dadurch, da neben den Angehörigen des Staatlichen Materialprüfungsamtes auch Angehörige anderer deutscher Materialprüfungsanstalten Beiträge zur Verfügung stellten, ist auch für den Bereich des Bergbaus der auf andern Gebieten mit Erfolg beschrittene Weg der Gemeinschaftsarbeit eingeschlagen worden. Bei Bergbaufragen sind zwei Gruppen von Aufgabestellungen zu unterscheiden: r. Aufgabestellungen der Werkstoffprüfung und Werkstofforschung, die sich für den Bergbau in derselben Weise ergeben und mit denselben Mitteln zu lösen sind, wie für andere Zweige der Technik und Wirtschaft (Kapitel A, B, C und E). Diese Fragen betreffen die in dauerhaftem Ausbau gesetzten Grubenbauten, also Schächte, Querschläge, unterirdische Maschinenräume usw., ferner den hölzernen, Stahl- oder Steingrubenausbau und verschiedene andere Betriebseinrichtungen. 2. Besondere Aufgabestellungen, die der Sicherung solcher Grubenausbaue dienen, die den Bergbauwirkungen nur solange Widerstand zu leisten brauchen, wie es der fort- geschrittene Abbau erfordert. Hier handelt es sich um die schwierige Frage, in den Grubenbauen nach Möglichkeit die Spannungsverhältnisse voraus zu beurteilen und das Abbauverfahren so zu gestalten, da Stein-und Kohlenfall eingeschränkt und die Zahl der Unfälle geringer werden.
