Lounsbury, Mary: - Mary Lounsbury, PhD, is a mythologist, group facilitator, and maker of things. Her work celebrates creative engagement as the fertile ground out of which we grow our connections to the world. Her early work in education inspired her curiosity about why so many adults are so anxious about their own creative expression. That, together with her fascination with metaphor and symbolism, and the way they shape our creative works, led to her doctoral degree in Mythological Studies and Depth Psychology. Her research argues for creative engagement as a means to personal discovery and genuine social connection. Drawing together her academic background with her wealth of experience in the creative arts, she champions expression for the health and well-being of the individual (you) and society (us) both. For healing, for renewal, and for fun, even in the face of fire! She is a longtime resident of the beautiful WNC mountains.
