About The Book

The book has been designed for students preparing for UGC-NET/SLET in the subject of Education. This second edition has been thoroughly revised, updated and sufficiently enlarged. A large number of questions have been added in each chapter. Three sets each of Model Test Papers, Paper II and Paper III have been added. Previous Years Papers (December 2012) in Paper II and Paper III, with answers, have been included to give the students a feel of what type of questions are asked in the examination. The book is very comprehensive and covers almost all possible objective type questions on the subject. Many of the questions set in UGC-NET/SLET and various other competitive examinations in the previous years have been used for preparing this book. The book is not a mere juxtaposition of various types of objective type questions on Education under one cover. There are four chapters, each containing questions on a particular topic for focused attention and better overall understanding of the topic covered. Education is a vast subject and many new developments are taking place because of research and application of new methods of teaching. Many new questions relating to such new developments in the fields of academic and professional education, pedagogy and curriculum evaluation have been included in the book. The book is the result of extensive research on the subject, interaction with academics and professionals, and referring to various authentic sources. It will not only serve the needs of those preparing for UGC NET/ SLET but also other competitive examinations in the subject of Education.

About The Author

Atlantic Research Division is engaged in preparing quality textbooks on various subjects for postgraduate and undergraduate students pursuing various courses, as well as for those appearing in UGC-NET/SLET and other competitive examinations like IAS, IFS, IRS, IPS, etc. The Directors of the Atlantic Research Division are the following: • K.R. Gupta, M.A. Ph.D., had been teaching postgraduate classes and guiding research for about two decades in the University of Jammu and Kurukshetra University. He has written over twenty books and contributed several papers in journals being published in India and abroad. • D.S. Paul, M.A. English, has the experience of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students at colleges and institutes. He has written and edited several books and contributed articles in journals of repute. He has set model question papers for various competitive examinations. • Manpreet Kaur is M.A., M.Phil in Political Science. She cleared her M.Phil in first division from Vinayaka Mission University. She also holds B.Ed. degree in first division from National College of Education. She is doing Ph.D. on “Violence Against Women” from IGNOU.
