About The Author

Friedrich Max Müller (1823–1900) was a renowned German philosopher and scholar of linguistics and oriental studies. Educated at the University of Leipzig and Oxford, he is best known for his pioneering work in the field of Indology and for translating and interpreting ancient texts from Sanskrit and other Indian languages. Müller played a significant role in bringing Hindu philosophy and spiritual teachings to the Western world, primarily through his work on the Rigveda and other key texts of Indian religion. His intellectual curiosity and scholarly depth led to his involvement in the translation of significant works such as The Upanishads and The Bhagavad Gita. A prominent advocate for the study of comparative religion, Müller contributed significantly to the understanding of Eastern spirituality and its teachings.
