Professor N.S. Gupta has been one of the founders of Commerce and Management education in the State of Jammu & Kashmir. He has taught management for about thirty five years and guided research for more than three decades. At present many of his research scholars are doing work on his theories to give concrete shape by undertaking in depth study in micro perspective so as to provide universal acceptability by testing the results with statistical and mathematical tools of analysis. Some of the areas of research are Leadership, Conflict Management, Cultural Basis of Managing People and Development. Recently he has established the Institute of Management and Finance. Dr. Alka Gupta, M. Com., Ph.D. is the devoted and hard working scholar. She is working as Lecturer in Commerce, Institute of Correspondence Courses, University of Jammu. She has enough research experience. Management Theory and Human Resource Management are the areas of her interest in which she is expected to make significant contribution. Her independent book on Wage and Salary Administration in India is to come out of press shortly.
