Aesthetics is askance and reaskance for fullness and excellence. It is what one should be from what one is from the points of view of Truth Goodness and Beauty. To Swami Vivekananda, aesthetics is more than mere excellence and fullness. It is identification, assimilation and manifestation of fullness and excellence already in man. Again, it is a screne component to go ahead from purity to poignance, from crudities to subtleties and fineness and from indiscipline to calmness of mind victorious in proclaiming Tat Tam-hosi in the endless journey of beyonding : Charaiveti. Right from education and humanism to religion, socialism and mysticism, the aesthetics of Vivekananda is practical and dynamic, soul-stirring and vibrant with the unending panorama of human efflorescence that directs us towards the lotus-land of divinity. “Swami Vivekananda and Rabindra Nath Tagore: Unison of Aesthetic Aroma” is an indepth contribution to comparative aesthetics awaiting learned criticism from revered readers. The first of its kind in India and abroad, the book will be a constant companion to everyone interested in life as it should be lived.
