The book covers the general paper (Paper-I) on Teaching and Research Aptitude for UGC-NET/SLET. It has been designed to cover the entire syllabus of the general paper with the objective of assessing the teaching and research capabilities of the aspirants of lectureship and research through UGC-NET/SLET. It will be very helpful in improving the cognitive abilities of the candidates, including comprehension, analysis, evaluation, and understanding the structure of arguments and deductive as well as inductive reasoning. It will also be helpful in improving general awareness and knowledge of sources of information. The questions relating to the interaction between people, environment and natural resources and their impact on quality of life have been properly dealt with in this book. Utmost care has been taken to cover all possible types of questions asked in the general paper. Six model test papers, based on the style and contents of the original papers set in the UGC-NET/SLET, have been included in this book to test the level of preparation of the students. At the end of this book, previous years’ papers with answers have been provided to familiarize the students with the pattern of the questions asked in the UGC-NET/SLET.

He has written and edited several books and contributed articles in journals of repute. He has set model question papers for various competitive examinations. Meenakshi Taheem, M.A. History, has widely read the history of India and Europe. She has obtained first division in all Indian History subjects both at graduation and postgraduation level. She has done her graduation from Delhi University and postgraduation from Himachal Pradesh University. She also holds B.Ed. degree from Maharishi Dayanand University. Manpreet Kaur is M.A., M.Phil in Political Science. She cleared her M.Phil in first division from Vinayaka Mission University. She also holds B.Ed. degree in first division from National College of Education. She is doing Ph.D. on “Violence Against Women” from IGNOU.
