Lt. Colonel Travis Morgan of the United States Air Force is attacked while on a reconnaissance mission over Russia. Fleeing toward the arctic circle, he is forced to abandon his dying aircraft over the Yukon--and parachutes through a swirling mist into the strange and unrecognizable land of Skartaris!

In Warlord by Mike Grell Omnibus Vol. 1, readers can journey to Skartaris and read the very first appearance of Grell's famous creation, along with the first 50 issues of the Warlord series, which stands as one of the most influential comics runs of its era.

This volume collects 1st Issue Special #8, Warlord #1-50, and Amazing World of DC Comics #12.

Mike Grell is a legendary comic book writer and artist, having started his work at DC Comics in 1973. While Grell has worked on almost every major character for both Marvel and DC, he is perhaps best known for his groundbreaking reboot of Green Arrow, "The Long Bow Hunters," which was the second "prestige format" book published by DC after Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns. Grell's work on Green Arrow was the basis for many elements in the The CW's Arrow series -- in which Grell also had a cameo in the pilot episode.
