Elemene Antitumor Drugs: Molecular Compatibility Theory and its Applications in New Drug Development and Clinical Practice introduces natural anti-tumor drug elemene and systematic basic and clinical research. Basic principles of the compatibility theory of traditional Chinese medicine and the research and development process of the natural anti-tumor drug elemene under the guidance of this principle are introduced. In addition, the traditional extraction and separation of elemene and the new biosynthesis technology developed by the author's team are described. Then, the systematic anti-tumor mechanism research of elemene are introduced, including unique multi-target and comprehensive anti-tumor mechanisms and detailed mechanisms for treating specific tumors.

Under the guidance of compatibility theory, clinical research on the combined application of elemene and different chemotherapeutic drugs has been further carried out, achieving positive results in clinical practice. Finally, the book also introduces the research and exploration of new drug delivery systems of elemene, as well as the structural modification and drug discovery progress taking elemene structure as the lead compound.

Xie, Tian: - Professor Tian Xie holds an M.D. degree and is currently a Professor at Hangzhou Normal University School of Pharmacy. He is the director of the Key Laboratory of Elemene Class Anti-cancer Chinese Medicine of Zhejiang Province and head of the Engineering Laboratory of Development and Application of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Zhejiang Province. Dr. Xie has been engaged in research, teaching and industrialization of Chinese and Western Medicine, natural medicine research and development, targeted liposomes development, pharmaceutical engineering, and green chemistry for more than 40 years.


Professor Tian Xie is also the inventor of the elemene oral emulsion and elemene injection antitumor drugs. The successful development of elemene antitumor drugs has achieved extensive clinical and social benefits. The drug has been used in China for nearly 20 years, benefiting hundreds of thousands of cancer patients. The development of elemene series drugs has also increased the demand for the source of elemene, "Wenyujin", and tens of thousands of farmers in Zhejiang Province have significantly increased their income by planting Wenyujin.
