Indian Summer Monsoon Variability: El Niño-Teleconnections and Beyond presents the improved understanding of Indian Monsoon teleconnections (ENSO and Non-ENSO), new advances, and preferred future steps. Special emphasis is given to non-ENSO teleconnections which have been poorly understood for decades. With growing monsoon rainfall extremes across the Indian Subcontinent, a new understanding of monsoon environmental factors that are driven remotely through teleconnections is a trending topic. Finally, the book reviews current understanding of
the observational and modeling aspects of Indian monsoon teleconnections. This is a must-read for researchers and graduate students in atmospheric science and meteorology.

Chowdary, Jasti S.: - Jasti S. Chowdary is a Scientist at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Ministry of Earth Sciences, Pune. He extensively works on the impact of climate modes on regional climate variabilities and atmospheric teleconnections. His research interests also include monsoon climate variability, predictability, climate extremes, and physical oceanography. He is involved in capacity-building by teaching courses on air-sea interactions and ocean dynamics.

Gnanaseelan, C.: - C. Gnanaseelan is a Senior Scientist and a Project Director at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Ministry of Earth Sciences, Pune. His areas of interest include Indian Ocean variability, monsoon teleconnections, climate variability, climate modeling, decadal prediction, and data assimilation. He is an Editor for JGR-Oceans and an Associate Editor for the Journal of Earth System Science. He served as an Adjunct Professor or visiting faculty of Pune University, University of Hyderabad, IIT Delhi, and IIT Bhubaneshwar.

Parekh, Anant: - Anant Parekh is a Senior Scientist at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Ministry of Earth Sciences, Pune. His areas of research cover monsoon variability, predictability and forecast, ocean modeling to study physical processes for ocean temperature, trends and variability, validation, and application of satellite data for ocean studies, and assessment of coupled model/ocean reanalysis. He is involved in teaching and training programs for meteorology and oceanography.
