Singh, Bhagat: - BHAGAT SINGH (1907-1931) was a charismatic Indian revolutionary who was convicted and hanged by the British in 1931 for his role in killing a colonial police officer in the Lahore Conspiracy Case. Singh wrote for several Punjabi and Urdu newspapers and journals and fiercely advocated Marxist theories. He is also known for popularizing the revolutionary phrase 'Inquilab Zindabad' or 'Long Live Revolution!'.
