Adhunik Bharat ka Itihas is the Hindi edition of History of Modern India by Bipan Chandra.

The book covers Indian history from the eighteenth century to 1947. It deals with the nature of British imperialism and the policies pursued by it in India, and their impact on the Indian economy, society and culture.

The Indian response to British imperialism and the rise of Indian nationalism are also studied. The book also provides information about social and religious reform movements that were prominent at the time.

The book provides comprehensive knowledge about the historical period known as modern India. It moves away from a largely political narrative to offer:
