Pippa's historical middle grade fiction includes The Twisted Threads of Polly Freeman and The Great Sea Dragon Discovery which won the Historical Association's Young Quills Award. She lives in Cambridge.

Rand, Emily: - Emily Rand studied illustration at Camberwell College of Arts and the London College of Communication. After graduating she worked with children and young people teaching art and running creative workshops in schools, galleries and museums. Emily has illustrated books for Tate Publishing, Flying Eye and Macmillan Children's Books among others, and was nominated for the Illustrator's Award at Bologna Children's Book Fair. She lives in London.
