Unter der Vielzahl der fiir den Oberflaehensehutz verfiigbaren Werk- und Kunststoffe hat das Email, einer der am friihesten an- gewendeten Stoffe, seine ZweekmaBigkeit behauptet. Aus wirtsehaftliehen Griinden wird eine VergrofJerung de8 I nhaltes der GefaBe angestrebt. Wahrend bisher Behalter von 50 bis 500 1 Inhalt vornehmlieh Versuehszweeken dienten, werden in der Produktion GefaBe bis 4000 1 sehr haufig angewendet. Die Konkurrenzfahigkeit erfordert zur Verbesserung der Wirtschaftliehkeit in der Herstellung vieler ver8chiedener Produkte unter anderem den Einsatz noeh groBerer Apparate-Einheiten. In Tab. 1 auf S. VIII sind die Ursaehen der mechanisehen und thermischen Beanspruehungen von emaillierten, guBeisernen Riihr- werkskesseln zusammengestellt. Es war nun wiinschenswert" einmal an einem groBeren emaillierten Kessel das Verhalten der Emailsehicht zumindest bei del' wichtigsten Beanspruehung, namlich bei wachsendem inneren Dberdruck, kennen- zulernen. Daraus ergaben sich folgende Problemstellungen: Einer- seits Messung der Dehnungen der-Emailfaser und der AuBenfaser des Tragerwerkstoffes, andererseits Berechnung der Dehnungen fiir die AuBen- und Innenfaser nach der Festigkeitslehre und schlieBlich Vergleich der gemessenen Dehnungen des Emails mit den berechneten Dehnungen des Tragerwerkstoffes. Diese Aufgaben sind Hir einen emaillierten 60001-GuBkessel gelost worden. Es wird aber besonders betont, daB die Darstellung des MeBverfahrens und die Ableitungen auf Grund der Festigkeitslehre so allgemein gehalten sind, daB die Anwendung auf andere Kessel keine grundsatzlichen Schwierigkeiten mehr aufwirft.
