Dr. Ulf-Daniel Ehlers hat sich nach dem Studium der Sozialwissenschaften, Anglistik und Pädagogik an der Universität Bielefeld seit mehreren Jahren auf den Bereich der Qualitäts- und Evaluationsforschung im E-Learning spezialisiert. Er ist derzeit an der Universität Duisburg-Essen tätig, wo er ein europäisches Forschungskonsortium zur Qualitätsforschung im E-Learning leitet.

Seine interdisziplinäre Erfahrung, die er auch Consultant in vielfältigen wissenschaftlichen und kommerziellen E-Learning- und E-Businessprojekten gesammelt hat, bilden die Basis für seine Vision von qualitätsgesteuerten E-Learning-Services. Seine Promotion, in der er zusammen mit mehreren internationalen Unternehmen lernerorientierte Qualitätsstrategien erforschte, legt einen empirischen Grundstein lernerorientierter Qualitätsentwicklung. Als Dozent lehrte er seit 1999 an der Universität Bielefeld, Magdeburg und Duisburg-Essen, wo er an vielfältigen Forschungsaktivitäten, empirischen Studien, Evaluationsvorhaben sowie Projekten zur Qualitätsentwicklung im Bereich E-Learning und Wissensmanagement beteiligt ist.

Projektleiter im Bundesinstitut für Berufsbildung, Bonn, seit 1977 mit den Arbeitsgebieten: Kaufmännische Erstausbildung, Weiterbildung, Stabsleiter der Pilotprojekte des BMBF 'Nutzung des weltweit verfügbaren Wissens für Aus- und Weiterbildung und Innovationsprozesse". Früherkennung von Qualifikationen zum eLearning, wissenschaftliche Begleitung von Modellversuchen, Vorbereitung von Kongressen und Workshops. Mitglied der Task Force "MUltimedia Educational Software" der EU, Evaluator von Projekten ind verschiedenen EU Programmen wie Socrates, Leonardo, Telematics Application, Mitherausgeber der Reihe "Multimediales Lernen in der Berufsbildung", Herausgeber und Verfasser von Büchern zur Evaluation und zum Design von eLearning. Seit 2004 Beratung von Projekten zum eLearning und zur Evaluation.
