Es wird hier der Versuch gemacht, das physikalisch fundierte Wissen der Gegenwart von den elektrophysiologischen Prozessen auf alle Gebiete des EKG anzuwenden. Wir sind hierbei bis zu einer exakten Theorie aller Ableitungen, insbesondere auch der Brustwandableitungen, vorgesto en. Es kann keinen Streit mehr über die Frage des Partialabgriffs geben; das EKG ist weitgehend berechenbar gemacht, bis auf die unberechen- baren Fehler, welche die Inhomogenitäten des Brustkorbs mit seinen variablen Leitfähigkeiten verursachen. So enthält dies Buch eigentlich eine gro e Zahl von. Originalarbeiten, die auch sonst nicht mehr eigens erscheinen werden: es ist nicht allzuviel in ihm abgeschrieben worden. Ich hoffe, da diese Tatsache auch von denjenigen meiner Kritiker anerkannt wird, welche sonst gewichtige (und vielleicht auch berechtigte) Gegengründe vorbringen werden. Natürlich ist einiges an unserer Darstellung noch Hypothese, so die hämodynamische Beein- flu barkeit von T. Aber alle Hypothesen sind im Wenn und Aber soweit zu Ende gedacht, wie der Verstand des Verfassers es ermöglichte. Ein jeder Verstand hat seine Grenzen; vor allem aber die Belesenheit eines Menschen. So war dies Werk nur möglich, weil der grö ere Teil der uferlosen Literatur unbeachtet blieb.
