VORWORT Rissbildung ist bei Stahlbetontragwerken ein "natürliches" Phänomen. Sobald die Betonzug- festigkeit überschritten wird, entstehen Risse. Risse können selbst bei Breiten von etwa 0.5 mm belanglos sein; aber es ist auch möglich, dass sie bei kleinen Breiten unerwünschte Folgen haben oder sogar Anzeichen für eine unzu- reichende Tragsicherheit sind. Der verantwortungsbewusste Ingenieur überprüft deshalb beim Auftreten von Rissen immer, weshalb die Risse entstanden sind, ob sie unerwünschte Folgen haben, oder ob sie ein Anzeichen für irgendwelche Fehler in der Berechnung, Bemessung oder Ausführung sind. Der Einfluss der Risse auf die Korrosion der Bewehrung bzw. die Dauerhaftigkeit des Trag- werkes ist ein altes, umstrittenes Thema. Selbstverständlich spielen diesbezüglich die Um- weltbedingungen eine wichtige Rolle; aber ein direkter Zusammenhang zwischen Rissbreite und Korrosion, unter Berücksichtigung der Umweltbedingungen, liess sich trotz aller Be- mühungen nie feststellen. Trotzdem messen immer noch viele Normen -u.a. auch die Norm SIA 162 -der Berechnung bzw. Beschränkung der Rissbreite eine zentrale Bedeutung bei. Dies führt unter Umständen zu einem unnötigen, unwirtschaftlichen Bewehrungsaufwand .. Es ist ganz offensichtlich, dass die Korrosion im Rissbereich vom Zusammenwirken zahlreicher Parameter abhängig ist. Mit Laborversuchen lassen sich zwar die Auswirkungen einzelner Parameter mit grosser Genauigkeit verfolgen, und es können auch entsprechende Berech- nungsmodelle entwickelt werden. Aber die Interaktion aller Parameter unter der Berück- sichtigung zeitabhängiger Phänomene, wie z.B. die Strukturänderung des Betons mit zu- nehmendem Alter, oder etwa die natürlichen Feuchtigkeitszyklen, lassen sich zur Zeit noch nicht mit der erwünschten Zuverlässigkeit in Berechnungsmodellen erfassen.
