About The Book

Das Gebiet der nicht-hiimolytischen bzw. nicht-blutgruppen- bedingten Transfusionsstorungen ist trotz seiner praktischen Wichtig- keit wenig bearbeitet worden. In dieser Monographie wird vom Standpunkt des Internisten aus versucht, aIle dam t zusammenhangenden Tatsachen und Probleme umfassend darzustellen. 1m Mittelpunkt stehen die pyro- genen und allergischen StOrungen mit ihren gegenseitigen Beziehungen. Es werden eigene Untersuchungen zur Frage des biologischen Wirkungs- mechanismus der Bluttransfusion, zum Problem der Allergie gegen menschliches Serum und einer moglichen EiweiBgruppenbildung mit- geteilt. Anhand statistischer Erhebungen an einem groBen Trans- fusionsgut wird untersucht, ob und welche Einzelfaktoren die Storungs- haufigkeit beeinflussen. Selbstbeobachtete Transfusions-Todesfalle weisen auf die Haufigkeit und Bedeutung nicht-hamolytischer, be- sonders allergischer Storungen auch fur den Transfusionstod hin. Das Werk ist in seiner Art als klinisch-experimenteller Beitrag vielleicht geeignet, eine Lucke im Schrifttum zwischen der blutgruppen-serologi- schen Literatur einerseits und den Arbeiten aus der Transfusions-Praxis andererseits auszufUllen.
