Aus heutiger Sicht entsprach das erste Symposion tiber den " Verriege1ungsnage1" am 30.4. 1977 in StraBburg einer Bestandsaufnahme, der damit - sozusagen im A11eingang- vor all em in der BG-Unfallklinik Frankfurt am Main, im Centre de Traumato1ogie et d 'Orthopedie in StraBburg und in der I. Universitiitsklinik fUr Unfallchirurgie, Wien, ge- wonnenen Erfahrungen; hier wurden die Voraussetzungen fUr eine enge und effektive Zusammenarbeit dieser drei Kliniken geschaffen. Das zweite Symposion zum Thema, am 3. 2.1978 in Wien, lie bereitsdie Konsequenzen erkennen, die sich in einer einheitlichen Indikationsstellung, einer zunehmend standardi- sierten Operationstechnik aber auch in Kritik, in methodischen und instrumentellen Ver- besserungen wiederspiege1ten. Dieses dritte Verriege1ungsnage1-Symposion fand nun 10 Jahre nach der Inauguration des Verfahrens durch Klemm und Schellmann statt, die ihrerseits stets auf die geistige Urheberschaft Ktintschers hingewiesen haben. Die das Symposion ausrichtende BG-Unfallklinik Frankfurt am Main tiberblickt bis heute 1 000 Osteosynthesen mit einem Verriege1ungsnage1, verfUgt somit tiber ausreichende Erfahrungen im Hinblick auf Indikationsstellung, Operationstechnik und Einsatz von Hilfs- mitte1n. Durch stiindige Nachuntersuchung der Patienten konnte die gro e Erfo1gssicherheit der Methode dokumentiert, durch die Analyse von Fehlsch1iigen auch der Grenzbereich fUr die Indikationsstellung bestimmt werden. Ohne Zweifel ist das Verfahren noch weiter entwicklungsfahig. A1s echter Mangel ist z.B. die Abhiingigkeit von stiindigen Rontgenkontrollen wiihrend des Operationsab1aufes zu sehen. Der vorliegende Bericht weist den status praesens fUr die Osteosynthese mit dem Ver- riege1ungsnage1 aus und 1ii t die Schwerpunkte fur die weitere Arbeit erkennen, die vor aHem in der Entwicklung von rontgenstrah1enunabhangigen Zieleinrichtungen zu sehen sind.
