AnliWlich der Tagung der Deutschen Tuberkulosegesellschaft im Herbst 1960 in Freiburg i. Br. war das fUhrende Thema die chronischen, nichttuberkulosen Lungen- erkrankungen. Klinische, anatomische und serologische Forschung haben in den letzten Jahren zur Feststellung einer ganzen Reihe bedeutsamer chronischer Lungenkrankheiten gefiihrt, die von der Tuberkulose abzugrenzen sind und die mit dem sakularen Riickgang der chronischen Lungentuberkulose immer mehr an Bedeutung gewinnen. Diese Krank- heitsbilder wurden bis anhin, mit Ausnahme des Bronchialasthmas, del' asthmoiden Bron- chitis mit obstruktivem Lungenemphysem und der Pneumokoniose, als ausgesprochene Seltenheiten bewertet. Auch bei dies en nichttuberkulOsen chronischen Lungenerkran- kungen kommt demLungenrontgenbefund eine fUhrende Stellung zu. Um einen Eindruck des Formenreichtums und der Hiiufigkeit dieser Krankheiten zu gewinnen, veranstaltete der Vorstand del' Deutschen Tuberkulosegesellschaft, zusammen mit den Freiburger Universitatskliniken. eine Ausstellung einschliigiger Rontgenbilder. Herr PD. Dr. K. l\'Iess- Hon' und Herr PD. Dr. J. WEINREICH iibernahmen die mtihsame und schwierige Aufgabe. das Beobachtungsgut zu sichten und zu ordnen. Es ergab sich dabei sowohl ein un- erwarteter Formenreichtum von Befunden wie auch von krankheitscharakteristischen Ront- genbefunden, die eine eindeutige Diagnose erlauben. Die nichttuberkulOsen chronischen Lungenkrankheiten werden in Zukunft noch an Bedeutung gewinnen. Die Kenntnis ihrer Klinik, ihrer Rontgenbefunde und Atiologie ist eine Forderung del' Zeit. Del' vor- liegende Atlas ist ein Versuch, den bisherigen Erfahrungsschatz zu iibermitteln und gleich- zeitig neue Anregungen zu geben. Ich mochte an dieser Stelle den Herren PD.
