Besonders wichtig scheint mir bei dem Buch der gelungene Versuch zu sein, wichtige Grundta- sachen in verstandlicher Form darzustellen und dennoch den praktischen und klinischen Aspekt nicht aus dem Auge zu verlieren. Unter allen Risikofaktoren spielt ja die Hyperlipid amie und im engeren Sinne die Hypercholesterinamie eine entscheidende Rolle als Risikofaktor der Koronaren Herz krankheit. Die Autoren weisen zu Recht darauf hin, dass aber gerade dieser schadigende Einfluss oft uber viele Jahre unbe merkt bleibt, wahrend andere Risikofaktoren sowieso evident sind (z. B. Zigarettenrauchen oder Ubergewicht) bzw. im all gemeinen in der Diagnostik fruher ermittelt werden (z. B. Dia betes mellitus oder Hochdruck).
