Seit nahezu 80 Jahren wurde versucht, diese Fibrinwirkungen durch lokale Applikation von Plasmapraparaten therapeutisch zu nutzen. Eine breitere Anwendung war jedoch erst moglich, als Anfang der 70er Jahre die Herstellung entsprechender Gerinnungsfaktoren - insbesondere des Fibrinogens - in ausreichender Menge, Konzentration und Reinheit gelang. Nach ersten Erfolgsberichten osterreichischer Arbeitsgruppen wurde diese neue Technik seit 1976 auch an deutschen Kliniken er probt. Inzwischen hat sie in nahezu allen Bereichen der operativen Me dizin Verbreitung gefunden, auch ankleineren und mittleren Kranken hausem. In den Anfangsjahren war die Einstellung gegeniiber dieser sogenann ten "Fibrinklebung" haufig emotional betont. Ubertriebenen Erwartungen und gelegentlich iiberschieBender Experimentierfreude stand bei der Mehrzahl der Chirurgen skeptische Ablehnung gegeniiber. Mittlerweile haben sich jedoch in vielen operativen Fachdisziplinen ge sicherte Anwendungsgebiete und Indikationen herauskristallisiert, bei de nen die Fibrinklebung teils eine operationstechnische Erleichterung, teils hohere postoperative Sicherheit, in EinzeWillen auch neuartige Therapie verfahren moglich machte."
