Was ist Bauphysik? Dem Namen nach k8nnte man alles dazuzahlen, was als Anwendung physikalischer Methoden auf Planung, Errich- tung und Nutzung von Bauten anzusehen ist. Tatsachlich umfaat die Bauphysik weit weniger! Die Anwendung physikalischer Grundsatze und Methoden in der Bauplanung ist alt, weit alter als die Bauphysik als eigenstan- diges Fachgebiet. So hat sich vor allem die Baustatik als ei- gener Wissenszweig entwickelt, mit all ihren Teildisziplinen wie Plattentheorie, Schalentheorie, Theorie der Warmespannungen usw. Der Bauphysik werden heute jene Anwendungsgebiete der Physik auf das Bauwesen zugezahlt, die noch nicht jene Abgeschlossen- heit und Eigenstandigkeit erreicht haben wie beispielsweise die Baustatik. Dazu geh8ren in erster Linie Schallschutz und Raum- akustik, die bauphysikalische Warmelehre sowie der Feuchtig- keitsschutz. Daneben gewinnt in der Bauphysik jener Zweig im- mer mehr Bedeutung, der sich mit dem Energiehaushalt des Gebau- des und der Verringerung des Energieaufwandes fUr Heizung und KUhlung befaat. Dabei sind Oberschneidungen mit den etablier- ten Fachgebieten der Heizungs- und Klimatisierungstechnik na- tUrlich nicht zu vermeiden. Ganz im Gegenteil, solche Ober- schneidungen sind sogar sehr zu wUnschen, denn gute L8sungen VI kBnnen nur erzielt werden, wenn Bauplanung und Planung der haustechnischen Anlagen Hand in Hand gehenl Die Bauphysik ist - seit sie unter diesem Namen auftritt - man- cherlei Vorurteilen ausgesetzt. Der Physiker nimmt sie meist nicht ganz ernst, der Bauplaner h lt sie oft fUr UberflUssig und fUr die Praxis zu schwierig.
