In den vergangenen zwei lahrzehnten ist die Anzahl von Patienten mit Verletzungen der Kniebiinder sprunghaft angestiegen. Die Griinde daflir liegen in einer Zunahme des Freizeitsports und der Zuwendung vieler Men- schen zu Sportarten, die besondere Gefahren flir den Kniebandapparat mit sich bringen. 1m gleichen Zeitraum konnten die operativen Techniken bei Knieband- verletzungen aufgrund eingehender Kenntnisse der Anatomie und der Ki- nematik des Kniegelenks wesentlich verbessert werden. Ein wesentlicher Bestandteil der heutigen postoperativen Therapie nach Kniebandoperatio- nen ist die iiuBere Fiihrung des Gelenkes iiber Orthesen, die das Bewe- gungsausmaB des Kniegelenks limitieren und den Bandapparat in der frii- hen postoperativen Phase schiitzen sollen. Ob aber mit einer Orthese das angestrebte Ziel gefahrlos erreicht werden kann, ist auch heute noch um- stritten. Aus dieser unbefriedigenden Situation heraus entstand der Gedanke, die Fiihigkeit der heute verwendeten Orthesen zur iiuBeren Fiihrung des Knie- gelenks zu iiberpriifen. Die vorliegende Arbeit entstand in den lahren 1988-1990 an der Ortho- piidischen Universitiitsklinik Kiel. Mein Dank gilt meinem langjiihrigen Lehrer, Herrn Prof. Dr. Blauth, der diese Arbeit gefOrdert und unterstiitzt hat. Herrn DipI.-Mathematiker Hahne und Herro DipI.-Ing.
