Gotz, Essen Die vorliegende Broschure umfaBt die Vortrage der 4. wissenschaft- lichen Tagung der Deutschsprachigen Mykologischen Gesellschaft in Freiburg/Br. am 30. und 31. Oktober 1964. Das erste Hauptthema be- schaftigt sich mit den "Krankheiten durch Actinomyceten und verwandte Erreger". Auch wenn es sich hierbei nicht im strengen Sinne des Wortes urn "Myzeten" handelt, sondern urn bakterienartige Mikroben, so haben wir doch aus historischen Grunden auf die Beschaftigung mit diesem Grenzgebiet nicht verzichten wollen, zumal die Broschuren 1961, 1962 und 1963 dieser Schriftenreihe die Sitzungs berichte unserer Gesellschaft uber die eigentlichen Pilze wie Dermatophyten, Hefen und Schimmelpilze als Hauptthemen frliherer Tagungen enthalten. Zudem hat die bisherige Ent- wicklung der Deutschsprachigen Mykologischen Gesellschaft gezeigt, daB bei den zur Diskussion stehenden Krankheiten Hygieniker, Mikrobiologen bzw. Bakteriologen und Mykologen gerade durch ihre Zusammenarbeit mit den Human- und Veterinarmedizinern aller Disziplinen besonders fruchtbringende Arbeit zu leisten vermogen. In dies em Sinne fand auch das zweite Hauptthema der Tagung "Wechselwirkungen zwischen pathogenen Pilzen und Wirtsorganismus" ungeteilte Aufmerksamkeit. Die standig steigende Mitgliederzahl unserer Mykologischen Gesell- schaft beweist, wie groB das Interesse an den lange Zeit als Stiefkind der Medizin behandelten Pilzkrankheiten geworden ist. Die Teilnahme aus der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, der Schweiz, Osterreich, daruber hinaus aus Schweden, Frankreich und den Niederlanden war bemerkenswert rege und lieB besonders die herzliche Verbundenheit aller Mitglieder undInteressenten der groBen internationalen"M ykologenfamilie" deutlich werden.
