Dureh die systematisehe Anwendung der Sulfonamide und der Antibiotiea verloren die akut entziindliehen Erkrankungen des Ohres groBten- teiIs ihre Sehwere und Gefahrliehkeit. Intrakranielle Komplikationen kommen kaum mehr vor und aueh die AufmeiBelung des Warzenfortsatzes ist nur noeh selten notwendig. Die Frage der Behandlung entziindlieher Ohrerkrankungen, die jahrelang im Mittelpunkt des Interesses stand, ist praktiseh gelost, wogegen die Verhiitung und Behandlung nieht entziindlieher Sehwerhorigkeiten immer noeh in den Anfangen steekt.
