Die vorliegende Monographie soIl, wie alle anderen Bticher der Samm- lung, keine Einftihrung fUr Anfanger sein. Sie will vielmehr dem auf dem Gebiet der Mikrowellen Arbeitenden seine Tatigkeit erleichtern. Sie solI dem Leser eine moglichst vollstandige Darstellung der Mikro- wellen-MeBtechnik und ihrer theoretischen Grundlagen bieten, so daB ihm viel Mtihe und N achschlagen in Einzelarbeiten abgenommen wird. In der Darstellung sind Fehlerbetrachtungen, Methoden der Fehlerver- meidung und fortgeschrittene MeBmethoden eingeschlossen. Die Ausftihrlichkeit wurde so gewahlt, daB mit den vermittelten Erkenntnissen die Vielzahl der vorkommenden Messungen unter den verschiedenartigen Versuchsbedingungen mit Verstandnis durchgefUhrt werden konnen. Bei der Ableitung der zu bentitzenden Gleichungen und Formeln war es notwendig die theoretischen Grundlagen vielfach voraus- zusetzen, so da13 der Benutzer unter Umstanden sich tiber sie an Hand der am Ende der EinfUhrung angefuhrten Literatur informieren mu13. Andererseits erschien es notwendig manches zu bringen, was nicht direkt zur Me13technik selbst gehort, urn die Verstandlichkeit der Darstellung zu erhohen.
