S R Prabhu is an Honorary Associate Professor at the School of Dentistry, Brisbane. His expertise is in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Medicine. Professor Prabhu formerly held senior academic positions in Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology at university dental schools in India, Kenya, Sudan, Australia, Trinidad and Tobago, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and UAE and administrative positions as Director and Dean of Dental Schools in Trinidad and Tobago West Indies, and the UAE, respectively. Professor Prabhu is a Fellow of the dental faculties of all four Royal Colleges of Surgeons in the UK and Ireland and the International College of Dentists. He was an external examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK dental membership examinations.
Professor Prabhu has conducted workshops on HIV/AIDS for oral healthcare professionals in several countries in the Asian and Caribbean regions. He has published numerous papers in refereed journals, edited/co-edited, and authored/co-authored several books. Some prominent book titles include Oral Diseases in the Tropics (Oxford University Press), Textbook of Oral Medicine (Oxford University Press), Textbook of Oral Anatomy Histology and Embryology (Oxford University Press), Textbook of Oral Diagnosis (Oxford University Press), HIV/AIDS for Dental Practice (Dental Council of India), Handbook of Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine (Wiley Blackwell), Oral Diseases for Medical Practitioners (Oxford University Press), Clinical Diagnosis in Oral Medicine (Jaypee Bros. Nagamani Narayana DMD; MS.
Nagamani Narayana is a Professor of Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine at UNMC College of Dentistry. In addition to her training in India, Nagamani is dually trained in Oral Medicine and Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology from UMKC, School of Dentistry, Kansas City and New York Hospital, Queens. She obtained her DMD from Temple University School of Dentistry. She is a diplomate of the American Academy of Oral Medicine and the American Academy of Oral Pathology. Presently, Nagamani teaches oral pathology and oral medicine at the school; she also sees patients at the University Dental Associates and is the director of the oral biopsy service at the UNMC College of Dentistry. She is a member of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, American Academy of Oral Medicine, American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, and American Dental Association. She is a past president of the American Board of Oral Medicine. She is active in providing continuing education programs locally, nationally and internationally.
Norman Firth, BDS MDSc FRACDS FFOP(RCPA) FFOMP(RCPA) MRACDS (Oral Med) FOMAA FIAOO FDS RCPS(Glas)
Norman Firth is an Oral Medicine Specialist with the CCDHB in New Zealand and a Consultant Histopathologist with Clinipath WA in Australia. He is also currently a Consultant Oral Pathologist with Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology (Qld) and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Queensland (UQ) and the University of Western Australia (UWA). He is a registered specialist in oral medicine and oral pathology in New Zealand and Australia and an experienced forensic odontologist. His undergraduate training was at the University of Adelaide, and his postgraduate training was at the University of Melbourne. Dr Firth currently serves on committees with both the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS) and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia. He is an examiner for the RACDS Primary examinations. In addition to the Universities of Queensland and Western Australia, he has been a full-time academic staff member at the University of Otago and the University of Melbourne. His research interests include oral cancer and immune-mediated oral mucosal diseases.
David Wilson. BDS; MDS; FFOP(RCPA)
David Wilson is a formerly registered Specialist in Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology, a Fellow of the Faculty of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology, Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow. His academic career spanned over 40 years with academic posts in Australia (University of Adelaide and Charles Sturt University), Canada, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Malaysia. Professor Wilson held various senior academic and academic-administrative positions, including Head/Dean of the School of Dentistry (United Arab Emirates and Australia). Involved in establishing new dental schools in the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia and Australia.
Professor Wilson's principal career activities centred upon teaching, research, and oral and maxillofacial pathology practice. The latter included oral and maxillofacial pathology diagnostic histopathology, patient consultations, and forensic odontology. Research and Scholarship include circa 95 journal and book chapter publications and 121 conference and professional conference presentations. He is a co-editor and contributor to the textbook Oral Diseases in the Tropics, Oxford University Press, reprinted in 2017 by Jaypee Brothers Medical Publishers, New Delhi.
