Und doch, urn den Wandel zu vollziehen, bedarf es der Bestandigkeit. Be- standigkeit in doppeltem Sinne: Der Forscher, der einen gewissen Sachverhalt ausarbeitet, muB eine Bestandigkeit des eigenen Forschens zeigen, wenn er zum Ziele kommen will. Auch bei der Sache, bei dem zu behandelnden Gegenstand, muB man mit der Bestandigkeit des Ausgangspunktes rechnen konnen. Nur das Bestehende, das Gefestigte kann abgewandelt werden, kann als Basis eines Neuen dienen. Bestandigkeit ist etwas anderes als Stetigkeit. Stetig kann und muB der Wis- senschaftler auch sein, stetig in seinem Fleill, seinem Eifer - und in seiner Be- standigkeit, ein "rocher de bronce" im Wandel. Die Bestandigkeit ist mehr einem Ziel, die Stetigkeit einem Menschen zugeordnet. Bestandigkeit bedeutet das ver- ntinftige Festhalten an einem Ziel. Die Bestandigkeit in dieser Zielansprache braucht immer neue Wege mit Phantasie, die der Gefahr der Phantasiererei ent- geht.
