Nie aufzuhoren mit dieser Frage, das ist Physik. Das Verstehen der Vorgange der Natur findet am Schreibtisch statt. Verstehen ist RlickfUhren auf bereits Bekanntes. Es geschieht mit Gleichungen, Bildem und Rechnungen. AIle jene Zeiehen, die auf dem Papier erscheinen, haben Bedeutung. So, wie aus Noten, die Tone bedeuten, Musik werden kann, erwachst aus Formelbuchstaben die Kunst des Verstehens. Kunst ist Handwerk. Ihr Handwerkszeug sind die Kalki.ile beim "Rechnen mit Bedeutung". Vielleicht Mtte dies auf dem Einband stehen sollen. Diese Kalki.ile zu erklaren und ihren Sinn siehtbar zu machen, das ist jedenfalls das Anliegen dieses Buches. Es kann den Leser nur ein Stlick weit begleiten, denn erst dadurch, daB er sie selbst ausprobiert und libt und libt und libt, wird der "Noten"-Leser zum "Pianisten".
