Die Beschaftigung mit beginnenden Darmtuberkulosen lieB ge- wisse Probleme ihrer Pathogenese und Pathologie in neuem Lichte erscheinen, diese Beobachtungen sollen ebenfalls dem Interessenten zu- ganglich gemacht werden. Die dabei auftretenden Fragestellungen werden ausfUhrlich diskutiert. Es ist keineswegs Absicht dieser Arbeit, dem grundlegenden Werk von Lawrason B row n und Sam p son ein Parallels tuck an die Seite stellen zu wollen, ist es auch nicht die Absicht, dem Interessenten ein Lehrbuch in die Hand zu geben, aus dem er die Diagnose oder die Therapie der Darmtuberkulose erlernen konnte. 1m Gegenteil, die vor- liegende Arbeit setzt vom Leser eingehende Kenntnisse der rontgeno- logischen Darmdiagnostik insbesondere und der Tuberkulose im all- gemeinen voraus. Die Absicht des Verfassers ist, darauf hinzuweisen, daB ein richtiges Verstandnis der Problematik der Darmtuberkulose nur von einer allgemein phthiseologischen Schau aus moglich ist, nur auf Grund der Einordnung der Darmtuberkulose in das Problem Tuberkulose uberhaupt. Es solI darauf hingewiesen werden, daB die Darmtuberkulose, grtindlich durchdacht, alle Probleme aufweist, die die heutige Phthise- lehre zum Losen aufgibt, wie ja jede Organtuberkulose nur dann als wirklich durchdacht und in ihrem ganzen Umfang als begriffen bezeichnet werden kann, wenn sich in ihren lokalen Fragestellungen die Problematik der ganzen Phthiseologie widerspiegelt.
