Als die beiden Herausgeber vom Vorstand der Biometrischen Gesellschaft gebeten wurden, einen Halbtag auf dem 25. Biometrischen Kolloquium zu organisieren, war es das Ziel, den Anwendern aus den verschiedenen Bereichen der Biometrie ein modernes Teilgebiet der Mathematischen Statistik vorzu- stellen. Es wurden die Robusten Verfahren gewahlt, weil es scheint, daB dieser Bereich statistischer Verfahren dem Namen nach zwar allgemein bekannt, in der Anwendung jedoch etwas "unterentwickelt" ist. So sollte die Auswahl der Beitrage schrittweise weiterfUh- reno Nach einer allgemeinen EinfUhrung (WAHRENDORF) sollten einzelne, mehr oder weniger selbstandige Teilbereiche ange- sprochen werden: Verteilungen (TRAMPISCH), AusreiBer (GATHER) und Regression (HEILER, KRUMM/GASSER). Der Be- reich verteilungsfreier (nichtparametrischer) Verfahren wurde wegen seiner inzwischen hochentwickelten Eigenstan- digkeit bewuBt ausgeklammert. In den folgenden Vortragen sollten Anwender-Probleme behandelt werden (DUTTER, WOLF). Bei der Suche nach Referenten fUr Anwender-Probleme zeigte sich erneut, wie wenig Wissenschaftler bzw. Anwen- der praktische Erfahrung mit robusten Verfahren gesammelt haben. Zwar ist das Problem der fehlenden Eindeutigkeit oder Optimalitat (z.B. eines LagemaBes) an diesem MiBstand wesentlich "schuld"; zum anderen liegt es jedoch auch sicherlich an der generellen "Tragheit" der Anwender neuen Verfahren gegenUber. Die Herausgeber hielten es daher fUr erforderlich, diesem Tagungsband ein umfangreiches Literaturverzeichnis anzu- hangen, das im Ubrigen die einzelnen Literaturverzeichnisse IV ersetzt. Somit soll ein weiterer Schritt in Richtung einer Verbreitung robuster Verfahren getan werden. DarUber hin- aus sol len fUr einen ersten Einstieg (die Reihenfolge ohne Gewichtung!) drei Zitate herausgehoben werden: ANDREWS et al. (1972), LAUNER, WILKINSON (1979), REY (1978).
