Janner 1965 in Wien als gemeinsame Veranstaltung der Gesellschaft zur Erforschung des vegetativen Nervensystems und des Vereins fUr Psychiatrie und Neurologie in Wien abgehalten wurde. Es enthalt die Vortrage und Diskussionen des Symposiums in kompletter Reihe. Bei den Vortragen wurde sachliche Voll- standigkeit angestrebt und daher den Autoren die Erganzung der Rede- manuskripte und ihre Bearbeitung nach Art von Originalpublikationen mit angemessener Bilddokumentation zugebilligt. Bei den Diskussionen wurden die wortgetreu aufgezeichneten, von den Autoren revidierten Texte gegebenen- falls nach thematischen Gesichtspunkten neu geordnet, so daB die Meinun- gen der Teilnehmer in ihrer aktuellen Form und im gegenstandlichen Zusam- menhang zur Geltung kommen und als Anregung wirksam werden konnen. Meinem Mita1: beiter Dr. JELLINGER gebuhrt Dank fUr die Mitwirkung an den Redaktionsarbeiten. Den Herausgebern der Wiener Zeitschrift fur Nerven- heilkunde und dem Springer-Verlag danke ich fur das Verstandnis fur die Erfordernisse dieser Publikation. Das Symposium wurde durch Begr.uBungsworte von Prof. Dr. A. WIED- MANN im Namen der Gesellschaft zur Erforschung des vegetativen Nerven- systems fUr den am Erscheinen verhinderten Prasidenten Frau Prof. Dr. C. CORONINI und von Prof. Dr. H. HOFF fUr den Verein fUr Psychiatcie und Neurologie in Wien eingeleitet, der auf die allgemeine Bedeutung und die derzeitige Situation der Liquorkunde im Rahmen der klinischen Neurologie hinwies.
