About The Book

Nachdem das Tuberkulose-Jahrbuch 1950/51 von vielen Seiten als eine mog- lichst vollstandige Sammlung statistischer Angaben, die Tuberkulosebekampfung betreffend, zur Ausfiillung einer jahrelang bestehenden Liicke begriiBt worden ist, fiihren wir mit der Herausgabe des Tuberkulose-Jahrbuches 1951/52 unsere jahr- liche Berichterstattung in der gleichen Weise wie im ersten Jahrbuch weiter. Es hat sich herausgestellt, daB die endgiiltigen amtlichen Statistiken nicht fiir das laufende Berichtsjahr, z. B. fiir das Geschaftsjahr yom 1. 4. 1952 bis 31. 3. 1953 zu erhalten sind; vielmehr sind uns die letzten Statistiken aus dem Kalender- jahr 1951 erst im Februar 1953 zugegangen. AuBerdem solI das Jahrbuch gleich- zeitig als Geschaftsbericht fiir das laufende Geschaftsjahr gelten, welcher auch die fiir dieses Jahr in Frage kommenden Begebenheiten, die Tuberkulose- bekampfung betreffend, behandeln solI. Nach diesen Gesichtspunkten wird auch kiinftig verfahren werden. Die statistischen Berichte aus der Vorkriegszeit im Jahrbuch 1950/51 sind im neuen Jahrbuch durch ein Verzeichnis der Tuberkulose- Mortalitatszahlen, gegliedert nach Altersgruppen und Geschlecht, z. T. zuriick bis 1876, erganzt. Ich mochte bei dieser Gelegenheit nicht versaumen, allen Mitgliedern unserer Arbeitsausschiisse fiir ihre fruchtbare Mitarbeit im Namen des Deutschen Zentralkomitees meinen Dank abzustatten. Erst durch ihre Mitarbeit auf Grund ihrer besonderen fachlichen Erfahrungen ist schlieBlich die erfolgreiche Arbeit des Deutschen Zentralkomitees moglich geworden. Wir hoffen, daB auch das neue Jahrbuch denselben Beifall findet wie unser erster Versuch fiir 1950/51.
