Das Berichtsjahr ist gekennzeichnet durch zwei wichtige personelle Verande- rungen. 1m Mai 1955 hat der neue Generalsekretar sein Amt angetreten und so schon seine volle Wirksamkeit im Berichtsjahr entfalten konnen; der bisherige verdiente Prasident ist im Oktober 1955 von seinem Amt zurUckgetreten. Da turnusmaBig die nachste Mitgliederversammlung erst in Verbindung mit der Tuberkulosetagung 1956 in Baden-Baden durchgefiihrt werden konnte, war auch hier erst Gelegenheit gegeben, nicht nur dem lebhaften Bedauern iiber diesen EntschluB von Prof. Dr. REDEKER Ausdruck zu geben, sondern auch seiner groBen Verdienste zu gedenken, die in den von der Mitgliederversammlung beschlossenen Ehrungen - Stiftung des Franz-Redeker-Preises und Wahl zum Ehrenmitglie- ebenso Ausdruck fanden, wie in den Ausfiihrungen des Generalsekretars, die vorstehend zum Abdruck gebracht wurden. Zum Nachfolger wurde der Unterzeichnete gewahlt, dem damit - ohne besonderes Verdienst an der Tatig- keit des Zentralkomitees im Berichtsjahr - die Ehre zuteil wurde, diesem Jahr- buch ein Vorwort mit auf den Weg zu geben. Das Jahrbuch hat eine doppelte Aufgabe, einmal eine tlbersicht iiber Stand und Entwicklung der Tuberkuloseentwicklung zu geben, zum anderen fUr das Studium von Einzelfragen moglichst genaue Unterlagen zu lief ern.
