Die vorliegenden "Verhandlungen der Gesellschaft für Ökologie" enthalten die Vor- träge der 4. Jahrestagung vom 9. bis 13. Oktober 1974 in Erlangen. Populationsökologie, Vergleichbarkeit der durch Freiland- und Laborunter- suchungen erzielten Daten über die Indikatorbedeutung von Organismen, Biozö- nosen und Ökosystemen, autökologische Analysen an "Extrem"-Standoi'ten und die ökologische Landschaftsforschung stehen im Vordergrund. Auch die "Didaktik der Ökologie" ist vertreten, um zu verdeutlichen, da Ökologie nicht nur unsere Wissenschaft ist, sondern da wir eine Lösung drängender ökologischer Probleme auch in einer sachgemä en Erziehung zu einem ökologischen Bewu tsein erblicken. Die Vorträge zur ökologischen Landschaftsforschung bieten die Möglichkeit, Stand, Erfahrungen und Entwicklungstendenzen dieses Fachgebietes in der BRD und in unseren europäischen Nachbarländern zu vergleichen. Sie zeigen, da die Erstellung ökologischer Kriterien für die Landes- und Entwicklungsplanung sowohl die Hierarchie der ökologischen Faktoren und'Systeme, ihre allgemeine Gültigkeit und Regionalisierbarkeit als auch das Zielobjekt unseres Handelns, den Menschen, im Auge behalten mu .
