Langeres Be- obachten laSt Konturen und Wachsturnslinien erkennenr die tiber einige Zeit hinaus extrapolierbar sind. 1eh habe rnich darum bemtiht, im vorliegenden Buch einige in- teressante Einzelheiten der Walzwerkteehnik zu beleuchten und auBerdern Entwicklungstendenzen und zukunftstrachtige Arbeits- bereiche zu betrachten. Das ist unter anderern der Grund ftir die Kapitel tiber Scheren, Richten, Messen und Regeln. Mein Wunsch ist weiterhin, Begriffe aus der Theorie und der Walzwerkerei den Lesern nahezubringen, urn fachliehe Gesprache zwischen jtingeren und erfahreneren 1ngenieuren anzuregen und Hilfe zu gemeinsamer Arbeit zu geben. Mein Bueh richtet sieh daher in gleieher Weise an aIle, die mit Planung, dem Bau, der Ausstattung und dem Betrieb von Walzwerken verbunden sind. Ein vorwiegend die Walzwerktechnik betreffender Teil meiner Vorlesungen flir Studenten des Htittenwesens und des Masehinen- baus wurde miteingebaut, so daB es gleichfalls den interes- sierten Horern nlitzen mage.
